Efficiency Maine

This program, an independent agency, was created to design and execute energy efficiency programs in Maine. It offers a variety of well-regarded programs that include consumer information, marketing assistance, pilot demonstrations, discounts, rebates, loans, and other initiatives aimed at encouraging the use of high-efficiency equipment and practices. These efforts help reduce energy costs and greenhouse gas emissions for homes, businesses, and institutions across Maine. The outcomes include job creation, enhanced grid reliability, increased energy independence, a more robust local economy, and significant strides towards achieving the State’s climate change objectives. The agency is overseen by a Board of Trustees and the Maine Public Utilities Commission.
